Remodel & New Build Questions

Yes. Any work involving drain relocation, new supply lines, or fixture rough-in in Ohio requires a licensed plumber and a permit. Cosmetic work — replacing a faucet or toilet at the same location — generally doesn’t. But if your remodel moves anything, opens walls, or adds plumbing where it didn’t exist before, a permit is required. FlowMax pulls it as part of the job.
A basement bathroom rough-in typically includes breaking concrete to set the drain lines and ejector pit (if below the main drain), running supply lines, framing out the wet wall stub-outs, and pressure-testing the system before the permit inspection. The ejector pump handles waste from below-grade bathrooms that can’t gravity-drain to the main sewer — FlowMax installs and services those as well.
FlowMax works alongside GCs regularly. The plumbing rough-in happens after framing is complete and before insulation and drywall. We coordinate directly with your contractor on timing, show up during the rough-in window, and schedule the inspection so the project doesn’t stall waiting on a plumber. If you don’t have a GC, we can advise on sequencing so your other trades don’t get ahead of the plumbing.
Yes. FlowMax handles new residential plumbing from the ground up — water service entry, drain-waste-vent rough-in, fixture trim-out, and everything in between. Ronnie has done new construction work across Clermont County and can work from your plans or help develop the plumbing layout if you don’t have one finalized.
In SW Ohio homes built before 1980, opening walls often reveals cast iron drain lines, galvanized steel supply lines, and occasionally lead connectors at fixture stub-outs. These aren’t automatically a problem — cast iron in good condition can stay. But corroded galvanized and any lead connections should be replaced while the walls are open. FlowMax assesses what’s there and gives you an honest picture before committing to a plan.
Yes, with some planning around drain slope and access. Toilets need a minimum drain slope and can’t be moved unlimited distances without adjusting the drain stack or vent. Sinks are more flexible. FlowMax evaluates the existing layout, explains what’s feasible, and proposes the cleanest path to get you where you want to go.
Yes. FlowMax has installed everything from standard bath fixtures to waterless urinals in residential basement spaces. If you have a specific fixture or layout in mind, bring it to Ronnie — if it can be plumbed, he can figure out how to make it work within Ohio code requirements.
